Climate Change
Climate change is considered as one of the major challenges of our century. Effective strategies and measures are needed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and to cope with the impacts of a changing climate. Umweltbundesamt supports its clients in drawing up strategies to deal with mitigation as well as adaptation. Our experts give advice on the implementation of legal obligations and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as measures to increase energy efficiency. Furthermore, we support our clients in developing and implementing practical measures to adapt to the consequences of climate change.
Since 25 January 2006 Umweltbundesamt has been acting as the first accredited inspection body (EN ISO/IEC 17020) on greenhouse gas emission inventories worldwide.
Experience in most European countries and beyond, technical, legal and economic competence, experience in moderation and process-management, know-how on structural development, communication and data management qualify Umweltbundesamt as competent partner.
