CIRCUSE – Circular flow land use management
The Environment Agency Austria is partner in the European Territorial Cooperation Project CIRCUSE. Major objective of the project is to reduce progressing land take by implementing a new integrative policy and governance approach. The overarching philosophy of this approach is to avoid new land take on undeveloped land, to reuse developed land as far as possible and to compensate soil loss if land take cannot be avoided.
BORIS Soil Information System in Austria
The objective of BORIS is to provide harmonised soil data of Austria based on a specific data quality management. To achieve this, large and manifold data sets of different Austrian soil investigations have been merged.
Overview of Best Practices for Limiting Soil Sealing or Mitigating its Effects in EU-27
This overview is done through a comprehensive literature review and by identifying key studies, publications, reviews, reports, websites and pieces of legislation on soil sealing and spatial planning and other related fields, such as construction techniques.
