Austrian Know-how for climate change tasks in Western Balkan countries

Environment Agency Austria implements training programme

Vienna, December 16, 2016 – Climate change is one of the most urgent challenges for the planet. Within the Paris Agreement, which entered into force November 4, 2016, the international community agreed to  limit global warming well below 2°C. Austria is taking an active role in supporting Western Balkan countries in building up capacities to manage climate change mitigation. As a first step, Austria provides support  for compiling greenhouse gas emission inventories, emission reduction scenarios or developing national adaptation strategies.
