Serbian Environment Minister makes a flying visit to Vienna

Moreover, Snezana Bogosavljević-Bošković had a meeting with Michael Häupl, mayor of Vienna, to inform herself about experiences with smart cities and sustainable urban development, including Aspern, Vienna’s urban lakeside, as an example. The central topics addressed at the meeting were the use of renewable energies, modern environmental technologies and green growth.

As Austria‘s largest expert organisation for environmental issues, the Environment Agency Austria is an important international partner, especially for Serbia. “For many years we have been building stable and viable relationships between countries and institutions, with the aim of using our professional expertise to improve environmental quality on a lasting basis throughout Europe”, says Georg Rebernig, Managing Director of the Environment Agency Austria. “In terms of foreign, economic and environmental policy, this meeting in Vienna has made an important contribution to finding a way together towards approaching the EU and EU accession.”
