NAMAs and NDCs

Strategies and policies for greenhouse gas mitigation

Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) are aimed at reducing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and should be developed and implemented pre-2020. Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) as agreed in the Paris Agreement  in December 2015 set out the ambition level of national mitigation policies and should be ambitious and represent a progression over time with the view to achieving the purpose of the Paris Agreement.
