Austria's bathing waters among the European leaders
The latest figures from the European Environment Agency (EEA) confirm this: The quality of Europe's bathing waters remains at a high level. Austria once again performs very well. 95.8% of bathing waters are classified as “excellent”. Across Europe, the vast majority of sites achieved the EU standard of “excellent”.

In total, more than 22,000 bathing waters in the EU, Albania and Switzerland were assessed. Europe's coastal waters achieved an average of around 89% "excellent", whereas inland waters scored lower at 78%.
Austria among the European leaders
Austria is once again among the European leaders in terms of water quality. 95.8% of the bathing waters tested in Austria were rated as "excellent" - an impressive figure that is only surpassed by Cyprus, Bulgaria and Greece.
