The partnership aims at supporting Indian groundwater experts in the preparation of the groundwater related chapters of the Tapi River Basin Management Plan along the principles of the EU Water Framework Directive.

During a mission in January 2020, organized by the Central Ground Water Board and all three Tapi basin states, approaches for assessing the impact of solar pumping on groundwater quantity as well as a Programme of Measures were developed. The results of this assessment plus surface water issues will be incorporated in the Tapi River Basin Management Plan which will be available in September 2020.
