Short description

Cyprus has set itself the target of saving at least 20% of its current energy consumption by 2020, in line with the European Union's guidelines. To accomplish this goal, the Cypriot Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism strengthens its effort in implementing the Energy Efficiency Directive (Directive 2012/27/EU) and the Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings (Directive 2010/31/EU).

The general objective of the project is to improve energy efficiency in Cyprus as a consequence of improved monitoring and increased awareness of energy efficiency.

Services provided

  • Development and implementation of a scheme to assure the quality control of energy audits carried out by energy auditors in Cyprus
  • Supervision and coordination of a communications strategy including its implementation
  • Development of an IT-tool for monitoring annual energy saving
  • Development of an on-line platform and software allowing experts to submit energy performance certificates
